I believe that Faith in God brings meaning and purpose to human life.
My Faith:
I was baptized and raised in the Methodist faith and attended Fairview Methodist Church in Altoona, PA. Most recently I have joined the Saint James Lutheran Church located in Huntingdon, PA where I serve on church council I participate as an assistant minister several time each year.
A World of Prayer:
I have been blessed to have experienced many different religions, having attended various services including Catholic, Presbyterian, Jewish, Mormon and a variety of other fundamental Christian faiths. I have also participated in Native American services. The reverence these folks hold for God’s gift of the natural world is a true joy to experience.
Further, my travels to other continents and other countries have brought me a greater understanding and respect for other beliefs as well.
While indeed wars have been fought over religious differences I think God would prefer we share the love found in a world of shared faith and and love and grow closer to him by better understanding and appreciating all of his children and all of His gifts.
I believe that you don’t need a building to practice your faith. The starlit sky reminds me of God’s infinite and boundless ability to create. I have heard the wind sing like Angels as it whistled through the trees. God’s song is everywhere. All you have to do is listen to the music of the earth. I have heard God’s voice in the thunder of spring storm and in the hush of an Angel’s voice.
My wife, Pam and I started attending Saint James at the urging of our son Rick who had accepted a post as their choir director. The people there were so nice, that we couldn't stay away. After a few months we joined the church and feel so blessed to have this congregation of kind souls in our lives.
We aren't perfect but we worship a perfect savior and to do that as part of God loving family is a wonderful experience.

I think living a spiritual life is more than attending a physical church. I believe God designed us to serve His purpose. He gave us one hand to reach toward the Heaven He has prepared. He gave us the other hand to help bring others to Him. He gave us one foot to move forward and step confidently towards the future and the other foot to give us the stability of the firm foundation in the teaching of His words and deeds.
